Maui drops to No. 3 in best-island survey

Conde Nast Traveler named Palawan in the Philippines as its top island in the world in its 27th Readers’ Choice Awards, supplanting Maui, which has been No. 1 in the survey for the previous 20 years.

“I’ve heard from several people that the southern islands of the Philippines, such as Palawan, are remarkably beautiful,” said Mayor Alan Arakawa on Monday after the magazine released its results. Continue reading

Globe upgrading Puerto Princesa mobile network

Globe Telecom Cell SitesGLOBE TELECOM, Inc. has started building new cell sites in Puerto Princesa City in a bid to boost mobile coverage in one of the country’s top tourist destinations.
