China brings solar power to Antique, Palawan

MANILA, Philippines — The Chinese government is providing 3,000 units of solar-powered LED street light and home solar power system in the provinces of Antique and Palawan as part of efforts to help the country combat climate change.

Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu and vice chair of the National Development and Reform Commission of China Zhang Young inked a memorandum of understanding for the grant of solar energy devices to Antique and El Nido in Palawan. Continue reading

PH, Singapore Inaugurate Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast Project in Palawan

MANILA, Dec. 2 — The Department of Transportation (DOTr), through the leadership of Secretary Arthur P. Tugade, and the Singapore government, represented by Singapore’s Ambassador to the Philippines Kok Li Peng, today inaugurated the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) in the municipality of Bataraza in the southernmost tip of Palawan.

The ADS-B project– a state-of-the-art surveillance technology that aims to make flights safer and air traffic management more efficient– is a collaboration between the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). Continue reading
