The Discovery Leisure Company has appointed Charley Magabo as its new director of sales and marketing for its two resorts, the award-winning Discovery Shores Boracay and the exclusive Club Paradise in Dimakya Island, Coron, Palawan.
Magabo (top) previously spent a decade with a leading international chain, and his expertise “stems from his extensive experience in marketing luxury resorts, and cultivating MICE business from major feeder markets”, the Filipino hospitality group says.
Magabo will work closely with the sales and marketing teams of the Palawan and Boracay properties, the latter being one of the newest members of Preferred Hotels and Resorts’ Lifestyle Collection, the group tells MICE News Philippines.
“We are very pleased to have Charley on board,” says The Discovery Leisure Company’s chief operating officer, Jun Parreño, “Especially now that there’s an increased influx of tourists in the Philippines’ key island destinations, and an even more aggressive competitor set for our resort properties.”
Group director of sales and marketing Odette Huang adds: “With Charley’s strong experience in spearheading the global MICE and wholesale markets, I am confident that he would implement excellent sales and marketing strategies for our two resorts, including our gem Discovery Shores Boracay, recently nominated for the World Luxury Hotel Awards.”
The Discovery Leisure Company owns and manages a collection of hotels and resorts in exquisite locations around the Philippines. Its destinations include Discovery Suites Ortigas, Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay, Discovery Shores Boracay, Club Paradise in Coron, Palawan, and the newly-opened Discovery Primea Makati.
