Nearly 90 mynah birds allegedly to be sold for high prices in Metro Manila were “rescued” in an operation in Palawan province Saturday.
Members of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development also arrested at least one person during the operation, RGMA’s James Viernes reported on dzBB radio.
But one of the mynah birds died during the operation in Barangay Alfonso 13 in Quezon town in Palawan, the report said.
Initial investigation showed the birds were to be sold to a trader who would allegedly bring the birds to Metro Manila where they can be sold for a large profit. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
