PUERTO PRINCESA CITY: The “Apuradong Administrasyon” here announced on Monday that it is ready to implement 15 infrastructure projects worth more than P136 million after their successful bidding and awards to contractors.
According to the City Information Office (CIO), March 10’s bidding of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) succeeded in awarding the infrastructure projects with Mayor Lucilo Bayron steadfast in his commitment to continue them despite a scheduled recall election on May 8.
The CIO said Bayron believes the projects should have been implemented a long time ago since residents have been complaining about ugly road conditions in a highly-urbanized city.
Bayron was quoted in saying “summertime is the ideal season to start the infra projects so, they can be completed before the rainy season begins.”
Meanwhile, according to lawyer Gia Luy Ariosa, chairman of the BAC, the projects include the construction of classroom school buildings in Barangay Mangingisda; establishment of a rural service center in Barangay Napsan; construction of National Child Development Center in Mangingisda too; and road concreting projects in barangays San Jose, San Manuel, Sta. Monica, Sicsican, San Pedro, and Bancao-Bancao.
The notice to proceed for the projects were released on April 1.
With all approved projects, the city government expects that more economic progress will happen in Puerto Princesa once these are completed.
